Updates
The Rom Request board is now dead, due to a request from the admins at Emulationworld. You can always try the emulation club on yahoo.
I also removed the news script from emusphere and replaced it with a couple of links to sites that carry emulation news.

eFront idiots at it again.
Another thing to piss me off to night... it looks like emusphere is dead now, thanks to the idiots at eFront. It's too bad, because emusphere was easily the best news site. I just hope the guy that runs eFront ends up in prison. The banner below is appropriate:

Don't shop at K-Mart or bluelight.com
Do me a favor and don't shop at K-Mart or bluelight.com again. I ordered a Nomad Jukebox from their web site for $27, but they made a "pricing error" and have decided not to send it to me (if you want it cheap, check out the ordering code below). I'm never shopping there again.
------------------
Dear Customer,
You recently ordered a Nomad Jukebox MP3 player for the amazing price
of $26.99 from BlueLight.com. Well, sometimes something that seems
too good to be true is just that - too good to be true.
We've discovered a pricing error in our system and had to cancel your
order. The correct sale price of the Nomad Jukebox should have been
$299.99.
To make up for any inconvenience this may have caused, we would like
to offer you ONE Nomad Jukebox MP3 player at the special price of
$274.99. This offer is good through May 1, 2001. We'd also like to
express our regret by giving you a coupon for 20% off your next
BlueLight purchase. To take advantage of this discount, simply enter
the coupon code JUKEBOX20 during checkout. This coupon is valid
through May 15, 2001.
Please call the Customer Care team at 1-800-355-6388 if you'd like to
order the Nomad Jukebox at the special price of $274.99, or if you
have any other questions.
Again, our sincerest apologies.
-- Your BlueLight Customer Care Team

Indrema is dead
Oh yeah, I noticed that the Indrema (linux console) is dead. Did anyone actually think that it would survive in the market had it made it to production? Not a chance. There are just too many consoles that will be on the market... The only kind of company that would even have a slim chance of making an successful entry into the console market is a monopoly like Micro$oft. I still think that either the PS2, Xbox, or Game Cube is going to fail. My guess is that it will be the Game Cube. There really doesn't seem to be room for more than two competing consoles.

Stay Away from Cyberrebate
Ok, I find this unbelievable. Cyberrebate is selling a Palm M105 for $1799, which is free after rebate. But on the Palm.com web site is is only $199!
I've purchased a couple of things through cyberrebate, and received my rebate checks (after a few months of waiting), but I have a feeling that they are going to go bankrupt soon. Something has to be wrong if they are selling stuff at such a huge markup. I think that cyberrebate is just a scam, and I'm not the only one. All I can say is that I would stay away from them from now on, because I doubt that many people will receive a $1799 rebate check.

New Emulation Ring News
I have decided to close this ring to new members (until further notice) because of Yahoo! taking over the webring system and screwing everything up. Existing sites are still listed and work fine. Once (if) I can figure out how to merge the old ring sites with the new system, I will allow new sites to join. There are 84 other emulation rings listed, so please join one of those for now. Sorry, but I don't see any way around this.
