Featured Rom:
City Connection

The rom for this week is City Connection by Jaleco, the makers of the Bases Loaded series and probably something else, but nothing comes to mind.

In this rom, you are a fruity looking guy with a funky-looking hatchback wagon, and you cruise around cappin' cops with cans of oil. After you have cruised all around the city, you move on to the next city and lay the smack down on the police there. I am suprised that this game wasn't banded or something when it came out back in '88.

One of the reasons I chose to review this game was that I think it has been getting a bad rap. A lot of rom sites give this game crappy ratings (such as the site I will tell you to get it from) that it doesn't really deserve. The gameplay may be a little repetitive, but it is addictive. And who hasn't had the urge to hop in the hatchback and toss shit at the fuzz? Just because the game looks foofy with the hearts and crap, it doesn't mean its all bad. I mean you do smash into cop cars. That counts for something, right?

There is one thing I don't understand. What the hell is that little cat-looking thing with the checkered flag is doing in your freaking way all the time. You are supposed to avoid him, because you die if you hit it, but usually I hit that little bastard and watch him fly just for shits and giggles. It's hard to win the game playing that way, but it's damn satisfying.
