| Released in 1991, the Sega
Game Gear was sega's first attempt at a portable gaming system. Unlike it's main
competitor, it's display screen was in full color. The Game Gear is essentially a scaled down version of the Master System. Therefore, most emulators that run Master System games will also run Game Gear games. A device was even created for the Game Gear, called the Master Gear Converter, which plugged into the Game gear and allowed Master System games to be played. One nice advantage to the color screen was the a peripheral called the TV Tuner. When you got bored with your games, you could just stick in your TV Tuner and watch TV.
